Thank you John for all your great music , you guys just changed my life :-)
I really dream to meet you some day , and sometimes i want to be just like you !
Hi John,my name is Sergio from León (Spain),I appreciate the way you thank so many things, important things, forgotten for many known people, people like you are a great example of humanity. We're gonna miss MP but we understand a change had to be made and many of us knew the change DT needed was going to be painful. Mike is great but DT career needed to find another way, a way never found with him:((. I love him but I think that's the truth. We'll always support you, from our houses, from our work places, from the darkness,in silence,we are with you. Thanks, John for keeping the dream alive.Sergi.
First, I'd like to thank you for all of the great music you and Dream Theater have put out. Your music has really helped me in hard times and the good times. I was curious about the song Octavarium. The first section you wrote, "Someone Like Him" is that battle between who you are and who you thought you'd never be. Because of maybe someone or something, a person realizes that there is more reason to live then just sitting in a room for hours practicing guitar and thinking that things have to be difficult or hard in life. That security was a way of compromise maybe? I was just wondering, what made you realize that the man you never wanted to be was the man you always wanted to be. I would understand if you would not respond. I'm just grateful for this forum and so that others get to hear the things you have to say.
Always that you for what you have done for the rest of the world.
Hello. I’m from Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
I know that you have a lot of fans in the world, and don’t have enough time for all of them.
But I hope you enjoy my request.
I and my friend have a record music in computer program. He is playing on a bass guitar, and I on the electrical guitar. In ours music we have drums, keyboard, but we doesn’t record alive.
My question: can you see and listen this music, and give advice on future.
We are very grateful to you.
Been a DT/LTE fan since the very beginning...with a new drummer, are you changing your direction musically (i.e harder, edgier, more melodic) or are you keeping the "style" the same as previous albums?
just to tell you that....you and your music are always in my heart and mind.... I can not wait to listen to the new album and see you again in Stockholm....XXX
I would like to start by saying that you are the reason why I continue to pick up the guitar everyday and practice. I saw Glasgow Kiss on G3... That was the first time I experienced progressive rock and it changed my life. I had to figure out what you were doing in all of that.
I am a performance guitar major (jazz primarily) at the University of Arkansas. I am signed up for the Berklee Guitar Summer session... Your name and Vai are on the roster... I don't know if that means you will be there or if some courses are in the style of JP. Is going to berklee worth the 60k price tag? I have to try and play the guitar for a living... I will look back and regret it forever if I don't give it a shot. Arkansas is a great place for me to be able to practice 5-6 hours a day, but it is difficult to find the right people to play music with... Been struggling with where to go with this for quite some time... Any insight would be extremely helpful.
You are a good sir and an awesome.. drummer.
Firstly, really looking forward to your new solo album and we're all waiting very patiently.
Secondly, thanks for the precious time you've put into creating songs with DT, your own work and the long hours spent on the road, very much appreciated buddy as I know you miss your family and what not
