Default Stereo input jack question?

Hey All,

So yeah, I have stereo input(that you plug your guitar cable into) jack question. I'm not sure if my Podxt input is balanced or not (anyone know?) however, would putting a stereo input jack on a guitar make it stereo and have a stereo output? I'm thinking about gettig a stereo amp and want to take full advantage of it. Also, would effects such as stereo Chorus have better seperation? And lastly, would having a stereo input jack make a guitar sound better i.e. fuller?

Thanks

The signal coming from a guitar is always going to be mono (unless your mixing a pieze and magnetic pickup signal). Putting a stereo jack on a guitar will only make a difference if you have a piezo and magnetic pickups and want to run a single cable from you guitar which carries both pickup signals.

An effect (stereo - delay, chorus, tremolo) can make a mono signal stereo which can then be run into a stereo guitar amp and have it run through 2 cabs. This will make a thicker sound and certain stereo effects IMO sound a lot better than the mono equivelant.

But to answer your question, putting a stereo jack on a guitar is useless unless you have a pieze aswell which you want running through the same wire, which you can then split off later on.

good answer but even if you put a piezo the sound doesnt sound like stereo.
Wnen you record a rhythm track you have to double it,not just copy you have to record it again. Why ?
cause the subttle diferences you made everytime you play sound to your brain as if there are 2 guitars.if you you just copy the same guitar, your brain dont recognize 2 guitars but just one.
So if you put a piezzo , your signal ll be stereo but it ll soud mono.
Got it.
Sound engenneering is crazy .Our brains are very complicated when talking bout sound
see yeah
