Sounds like a big Jeff Beck fan. Nice playing.

Edit: Then Vai. Then it blends. Wow, this guy's a great melodic rocker! Awesome guitar tones. Really nice. Anyone who fails to check this out will regret it.

There's nothing sad about it at all. It's a conscious decision. And realistically, if he was SELLING the album, he'd have a hard time moving them. He'd have to order a run of 500 cds and be out around $1000. Then he'd have to sell 100 units at $10 each to break even for that. I bet he'll do better, faster, with the donate option. People who were just going to rip him off anyway would still just DL the album, but people who would have bought it will probably be willing to donate $5-20 for the effort.

I think it's a calculated risk, either way, and I think he chose the safe route, which will UNDOUBTEDLY result in more people HEARING the music. In fact, I'm quite certain that I'm going to do the same thing, myself.

It's really cool that artists do this, I think, essentially UKNOWN ones. This album is pretty good, he's a neat player. The music blogs are another great way to check out new artists, maybe a bit better than this, but really what's better than free music? If people really find it good and want to support him financially, they will find a way. Besides, everyone must be aware of the balance between art and commerce.

yea man ... i agree but i happen to live in the same city as him ...[ i don't know him or anything .. infact this is the first time i've heard of him ] but the scene here is pretty bad for rock-bands man .... i just hate to seeing talented people wasting thier time for no monetary benefits ....

and as fars as the exposure bit .... i think he can do that even if he does live shows .....
but then again i'm not complaining ... it's not everyday that i get to legally download quality music

Peace

Neat playing. Some exotic touches really enhance the whole picture.
